厐:
1. Same as “庞” (páng).
(庞 also means "large" or "huge".)
2. Phonetic compound. Combines "广" (guǎng) which represents a high building, with the sound "龙" (lóng). The character "广" (guǎng) symbolizes a tall structure. The primary meaning: a tall building or structure. — "Shuōwén Jiězì" (a Chinese dictionary). Duan Yucai's note: "Referring to a high building, hence the character includes '广'."
3. A face shape, as in: 庞儿 (páng er) which means "large face".
4. A surname, such as: 庞德 (Páng Dé), a person from the Wei dynasty during the Three Kingdoms period, styled as Lìngmíng. Initially followed Ma Teng, later surrendered to Cao Cao, granted the title of Marquis of Guanmén Tíng; 庞涓 (Páng Juān), a general from the Wei state during the Warring States period, known for studying military strategy with Sun Bin at Guǐgǔzǐ.
