惞:
1. Anciently the same as "欣" (to be happy).
(古同“欣”。)
2. To love and cherish.
(爱戴。《国语·晋语一》:“昔者之伐也,兴百姓,以为百姓也,是以民能欣之。”)
("In ancient times, when they fought, they uplifted the people, treating them as the people; therefore, the people could cherish it.")
3. To communicate “掀” (to lift or hoist).
(通“掀”。《墨子·耕柱》:“譬若筑墙然,能筑者筑,能实壤者实壤,能欣者欣,然后墙成也。”)
("It is like building a wall; those who can build, build; those who can fill the earth, fill the earth; those who can lift, lift; thus the wall is completed.")
4. The name of powerful rabbits and cattle.
(兔、牛绝有力者之名。《尔雅·释兽》:“兔……绝有力欣。”)

5. Joy; happiness.
(喜悦;欣幸。《左传·昭公元年》:“诸侯其谁不欣焉望楚而归之,视远如迩。”)
