1. The ancient form of "薰".
2. The name of a fragrant herb, specifically "蕙草" (Hedicarpus), also known as "零陵香" (Lingling fragrance), a type of aromatic grass. — "Shuo Wen" (说文) states that 薰草 is蕙草. — "Guang Ya" (广雅) also mentions it, referring to modern Lingling fragrance. It was noted that one 薰 and one 莸 are different. — "Zuo Zhuan" (左传) records in the 4th year of Duke Xi that there is a grass on Mount Fu, called 薰, with square stems and red flowers, black fruits, having a smell similar to that of the plant 荼. Wearing it can relieve diseases. — "Shan Hai Jing" (山海经) describes that there are腐鼠 (decomposing rats) at the altar, and they burn 薰 at the palace. — "Huainanzi" (淮南子) mentions in the "Shuo Lin" chapter.
