(Noun) 1. A small insect that resembles a locust and is good at jumping. In "Erya: Explanation of Insects": "工螽, 蠰谿." In the commentary by Xing Bing from the Song dynasty: "The field locust is also called 蠰谿, now known as 土磔, in the south referred to as 虴蛨, also known as 虴蜢, it resembles a locust but is smaller, particularly adept at jumping."
