In "Erya•Shi Gu" it is stated: “㪉 means to combine.”
在《説文•攴部》中：“㪉，合會也。从攴，从合。合亦聲。”
In "Shuowen•Pu Bu" it is explained: “㪉 means to gather together. It is composed of the radical for strike (攴) and the character for combine (合). '合' also serves as its phonetic component.”
段玉裁注：“今俗云㪉鏠。”
Duan Yucai notes: “Today it is commonly referred to as 㪉鏠.”
徐灝注箋:“合、㪉古今字。”
Xu Hao adds in his commentary: “合 and 㪉 are ancient and modern characters.”
