The Hanshui River, also known as the Han River, originates in the southwestern part of Shaanxi Province, flows through Shaanxi and Hubei provinces, and enters the Yangtze River in Wuhan. 2. "Heavenly River" (or the Milky Way). 3. An adult man. 4. Han ethnic group, the largest ethnic group in China. 5. An abbreviation for the Chinese language. 6. A name of a Chinese dynasty. 7. A surname. 1. A name of a river. The Hanshui River, also known as the Han River, is the largest tributary of the Yangtze River. 2. The Milky Way; also called the Cloud River, Silver River, or Heavenly River. 3. A name of a dynasty established by Liu Bang in 202 BC, lasting through 24 emperors for 406 years. 4. Also, one of the Sixteen Kingdoms, known as Former Zhao, established in 304 AD by Liu Yuan, who took control of the Left State City in present-day Shanxi Province and declared himself King Han. Another one of the Sixteen Kingdoms, known as Cheng Han, established by Li Te in 301 AD in Sichuan, where his son Li Xiong became king of Chengdu and later emperor, naming it Han in 338 AD, and was destroyed by Huan Wen of Eastern Jin in 347 AD. One of the Ten States during the Five Dynasties, also called Southern Han, established by Liu Yin around 904 AD. One of the Five Dynasties, also called Later Han, established by Liu Zhi Yuan in 947 AD. Another one of the Five Dynasties, also called Northern Han, established by Liu Min in 951 AD—destroyed by Northern Song in 979 AD. At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, a state established by Chen Youliang, called Han.
