焠 Stroke Order

焠 [cuì] 1. Same as "淬". 焠 [cuì] Part of speech: Verb 1. Quench: To heat metal and then rapidly cool it by immersing it in water or oil to increase its hardness. 2. Be contaminated: To be stained or soiled. 3. Scorch: To burn the exposed surface or a part of something. Examples: 1. As mentioned in "说文": "焠, a sharp knife edge." 2. From "汉书·王褒传": "Clean water quenches its edge." 3. For "焠针 (fire needle)". 2. To be contaminated, as in "史记·刺客传": "To soak it with medicine." Example: "焠轮 (the blood of hunted game stained the wheels)." 3. To scorch, as in examples: "焠掌 (burn the palm);" "焠儿 (a small stick that ignites fire, also called 发烛 or 火寸);" "焠着 (burning)."
