Definition of 「禜」: 1. An ancient ritual to pray for the deities to eliminate disasters. 古代一种祈求神灵消除灾祸的祭祀。 2. An ancient worship practice to offer sacrifices to the sun, moon, stars, mountains, rivers, wind, and rain, to pray for the cessation of disasters. 古代一种祭拜日月、星辰、山川、风雨等的祭祀，以祈求消灾除祸。 "In the case of the gods of mountains and rivers, they pray to eliminate disasters of floods, droughts, diseases, etc., thus performing (the ritual) to them." “山川之神，则水旱疠疫之灾，于是乎～之。” 3. According to the "Shuowen Jiezi," it refers to a ritual set up with cotton to ward off wind, rain, snow, frost, floods, and plagues using the sun, moon, stars, and mountains. 《说文解字·示部》：“禜，设绵为营，以禳风雨雪霜水旱疠疫于日月星辰山川也。”
