With large roots and purple flowers, it is commonly called hail radish." - Commentary by Xing Bing from the Song Dynasty: "Also known as purple flowering mustard, commonly called warm mustard, resembling a large turnip. One name is 薄葖, commonly referred to as hail radish; another name is 芦菔, which is now known as radish."
