鮠 [wéi]

1. A type of fish. Also known as "江团" (Jiang Tuan) or "白吉" (Bai Ji) (English: Leiocassis longirostris). It belongs to the fish classification (鮠科). The body is elongated, with the front part flattened and the back part laterally compressed, reaching up to about 1 meter in length, and is light gray in color. The snout is round and protruding, with a ventral mouth that has four pairs of whiskers. The eyes are small, and the body is scaleless.
