鱲 [liè]

1. A type of fish. The 鱲鱼 (English: Zacto platypus), also known as the 桃花鱼 (Peach Blossom Fish). It belongs to the class of fish and the family of carp. The body is elongated and laterally compressed, approximately 10 centimeters long. It has a silver-gray coloration with reddish hues and blue horizontal stripes. The upper and lower jaws are normal, without any irregularities on the edges. This is a small fish found in streams, distributed in China as well as in Korea and Japan. It is edible.
