Examples include: 腌肉 (pickled meat), 腌菜 (pickled vegetables), 腌制 (to pickle), 腌渍 (to salt). 2. 同本义 ([En.] salt): Same as the original meaning [En.]: to salt. 3. 变咪 ([En.] go bad): To go bad. Example: 《水浒传》: 兄长,已定这鱼腌了,不中仁兄吃。 (Brother, this fish has gone bad, you can't eat it.) 4. 另见 ā: See also 在 (ā). 5. 〈方〉[腌臜](—zā)不干净。 In dialect, means dirty or unclean. *参见「腌臜 」条。 Refer to the section for "腌臜".
