刬 (chǎn)
1. Same as "铲" (En. spade).
2. To pare, to level off.
3. To exterminate, to abolish, to root out.
4. A type of agricultural tool, spade (En. spade). An example is "刬子箭," which refers to a type of arrow with a broader head that resembles a spade shape.
剗 (chàn)
1. Simply, uniformly (En. simply).
Example: "一刬都是新的" means "Everything is new."
Another usage: "刬新" (zhuàn xīn) means completely new.
