渏
1. Anciently the same as "漪" (yī), which refers to water surface ripples or waves.
Water ripple patterns formed when the wind blows across the water surface, also refers to the shore. "When the wind reaches the water, ripples arise; when the sun sets behind the mountains, mist is produced." — Yuan Hongdao, "Narration of the Guo's Family Collection"
Examples:
- 漪如 (yīrú): the appearance of shimmering water waves;
- 漪涣 (yīhuàn): referring to sparkling waves;
- 漪流 (yīliú): gently undulating flowing water;
- 漪沦 (yīlún): small waves;
- 漪漪 (yīyī): the appearance of rippling water;
- 漪澜 (yīlán): water waves.
