甼(chéng)
1. Anciently the same as "町" (tíng).
2. Noun, refers to the boundaries of fields or small paths between fields. In "Zhuangzi: Human World," it says: "They may be without boundary ditches, yet still consider themselves without boundary ditches." Tang Dynasty scholar Cheng Xuanying commented: "Town refers to the edge."
3. Fields. In "Selected Works: Zhang Heng, Ode to Xijing," it states: "The bamboo thickets cover the ground, weaving the town into bamboo." Li Shan's commentary cites Xue Zong saying: "Town refers to the boundaries of fields."
