睏:
1. See "困" (kùn).
2. Adjective. Difficult and painful.
- Word combinations: "艰困" (jiān kùn, difficult and troubled), "窘困" (jiǒng kùn, embarrassed and troubled), "困境" (kùn jìng, plight).
- Example from "Records of the Grand Historian": "而齐竟怒不救楚,楚大困。" (Yet Qi was angry and did not save Chu, causing Chu to be greatly troubled.)
3. Adjective. Poor and impoverished.
- Word combinations: "贫困" (pín kùn, poverty), "穷困" (qióng kùn, destitute).
- Example from "Records of the Grand Historian": "吾始困时,尝与鲍叔贾,分财利,多自与。" (When I was poor, I often shared wealth with Bao Shu and others, giving more to myself.)
