簑 1. Same as "蓑" (suo) - a type of weather protection garment. 2. Noun: A rain gear made of grass or palm leaves. Example from "The Book of Songs, Minor雅, No Sheep": "You, herdsman, come with thoughts, what is the plait and what is the hat?" Han Dynasty, Mao Heng's Commentary: "The plait is used to prepare for rain." Example from Tang Dynasty, Liu Zongyuan's poem "Snow on the River": "A solitary boat, a plait and a bamboo hat old man, fishing alone in the cold river snow." 3. Verb: To cover with grass. Example from "Gongyang Zhuan, Year 1 of Duke Ding": "In March, the Jin people captured Song Zhongji in the capital. What was Zhongji's crime? He did not cover the city."
