粱 [liáng] 1. A general term for excellent varieties of millet. 粮的优良品种的总称。 2. The larger, non-sticky variety called 小米, while the finer and sticky ones are known as 秫. In ancient times, all grains ground from millet were referred to as 粱. 《说文》：粱，米名也。按，即粟也，穈也。芑也。今小米之大而不黏者，其细而粘者谓之秫，古舂粟之率，自粝至于侍御皆言粱也。 2. In "三苍": 粱 is good millet. 《三苍》：粱，好粟也。 3.
