1. Same as "舓". To lick something with the tongue.
Example: 老牛舐犊 (The old cow licks its calf).
From 《玉篇•舌部》: "舓, as said in '说文': 'To take something with the tongue'. 舐 is the same as 舓."
2. Similar to licking with the tongue.
Example: 舉筆舐墨, 依韻續詩二句 (Raising the pen to lick the ink, continuing the poem with two lines in rhyme).
