萑 [huán] Meaning: 1. During the Spring and Autumn period in China, "萑" refers to a marsh in the state of Zheng, known for dense growth of reeds where thieves often lurked. It later came to represent a thieves' lair or the thieves themselves. 2. In ancient times, it referred to plants of the reed family. Synonyms: 1. A type of reed plant. Initially called "菼," it is referred to as "蒹" when it's young and named "萑" when fully grown. Usage: 1. Reference: "Shijing · Bin Feng · Qiyue": "In August, there are reeds." 2.
