謫 (zhé) 1. 譴責，責備。 Blame; censure. 例：眾人交謫。 Example: The crowd blamed (censured) each other. 2. 封建時代特指官吏降職，調往邊外地方。 In feudal times, specifically refers to the demotion of officials and reassignment to outlying areas. 例：謫遷。謫降。謫戍。謫居。貶謫。 Example: Exile; demotion; banishment; living in exile; derogatory assignment. 3. 變異。 Mutation; variation. 例：“庚午之日，日始有謫”。 Example: "On the day of Gengwu, the sun began to show variations." 【引】 1. 《說文》：謫，罰也。 Wenyan: 謫 means punishment. 2. 《通俗文》：罰罪者曰謫。 Wenyan: Those who punish crimes are referred to as 謫. 3. 《左傳·成公十七年》：國子謫我。 Zuozhuan: The state has punished me. 4. 《左傳·昭公七年》：則自取謫於日月之災。 Zuozhuan: This will lead to self-inflicted punishment by the disasters of the sun and moon. 5. 《老子》：善言無瑕謫。 Laozi: A person who speaks well has no blemishes to blame. 6. 《列子·力命》：窮年不相謫發。 Liezi: Years go by without seeing punishment or demotion. 7. 《左傳·桓公十八年》：公會齊侯於濼，遂及文姜如齊。齊侯通焉。公謫之。 Zuozhuan: The Duke met with the Qi Marquis at Luo, thereafter mishaps occurred. The Duke demoted him. 8. 《詩·邶風·北門》：室人交遍謫我。 Shijing: Members of the household collectively blame me. 【例】 又如:謫疑(指摘懷疑);謫我(譴責我);謫罵(責罵);謫譴(譴責);衆口交謫。 Examples: blame with suspicion; censure me; scold; criticize; many voices join in blame. 謫 (名, zhé) 1. 被罰戍邊的罪人。 A criminal punished with exile to the borders. 例：《史記·秦始皇本紀》：徙謫實之初縣。 Example: The Records of the Grand Historian: He was transferred and exiled to the original county. 2. 缺點;過失。 Fault; mistake. 例：《老子》：善言無瑕謫。 Example: Laozi: A good speaker has no flaws to blame.
