鳒

1. 〔~鱼〕 A type of flounder; its body is flattened and oval-shaped, asymmetrical, with both eyes on either the left or right side. The side with eyes is deep brown, while the side without eyes is light in color. It has a large mouth with sharp teeth. It lives in the ocean and its meat is edible.
2. (鰜)
A member of the Psettodidae family of flounders (English: psettodid). Typically, both eyes are on the left side of the body, with the eye side being yellow-brown. It is mainly found in the South China Sea.
