鵙 (jú) 1. Bird name, also known as "伯劳" (English: shrike). It has a grey-brown back, a long tail, and a hooked upper beak, preying on fish, insects, and small birds. It is considered a beneficial bird. 2. Found throughout the southern provinces of China. Also written as 鶪. Example: 鵙鵙 (describing the call of the shrike).
