Definition of 「㑞」:
1. Same as "媵" (yìng).
Meaning: In the "Shuowen Jiezi • Renbu", it states: "㑞 means to send." In the "Yupian • Renbu", it states: "㑞 is same as 媵." According to Qing Dynasty scholar Huang Sheng's "Zigong • 㑞 and 媵": "In ancient times, when feudal lords married off their daughters, both from their own state and from other states, they were sent off by nobles, which was called 㑞. In common usage, it specialized to refer to concubines, so it changed from 㑞 to derive from 'woman', rather than from 㑞. ... It is essentially the name for sending off a daughter, not to say the girl being sent off is a 媵."
