Definition of 「䄷」:
1. Same as "石" (shí). A measure word. A unit of weight equivalent to one hundred and twenty jin (斤).
- "䄷, one hundred and twenty jin" (from Shuo Wen Jie Zi,禾部). Duan Yucai noted: "Four jun (鈞) equals one shi (石); in ancient times, 'shi' was often referred to as '䄷'. The jun and stone mentioned in the 'Yue Ling' refer to this."
- Qing Dynasty scholar Li Fusun stated in "辨字正俗": "The character for jun stone should be written as 䄷, as all five measures are based on millet, hence the character includes '禾'; today, it is commonly written as stone, and the character 䄷 has fallen out of use."
- Qing Dynasty scholar Zhang Mu wrote in "祁恭恪公墓誌銘": "Established granaries to store more than one hundred thousand 䄷."
