擬 (nǐ) 1. 揣度，推測。 Conjecture; speculation. 2. 效法；摹擬。 Follow the example of; imitate. 3. 比擬；類似。 Compare; be similar to. 4. 指向；比劃。 Indicate; gesture towards. 5. 打算；准備。 Intend; plan. 6. 擬定。 Work out; draft. 7. 起草；撰寫。 Draw up; compose. 8. 通“疑”。 A variant of "疑" (to doubt). 引： 1. 《說文》：擬，度也。 [Shuo Wen Jie Zi]: 擬 means to measure. 2. 行止而擬度焉。——《周禮·射人》注 To act and measure accordingly. - Commentary on "Rites of Zhou: The Shooter." 3. 《易·繫辭上》：擬之而後言，議之而後動。 "Conjecture before speaking, deliberate before acting." - "I Ching." 4. 《儒林外史》：先生說的可單是擬題?
