邺 (Yè)

It is an ancient place name. The city was first built by Duke Huan of Qi during the Spring and Autumn period. The Qin dynasty established a county here. During the Three Kingdoms period, the state of Wei made Yè its capital. The Jin dynasty changed the name to Janzhang to avoid using the name of Emperor Huai. Subsequently, it served as the capital for the Former Qin, Later Zhao, Eastern Wei, and Northern Qi dynasties. The Sui dynasty restored it as Yè County, but it was abolished by the Song dynasty. The historical site is located in the western part of Janzhang County, Hebei Province, and north of Anyang City, Henan Province.
