2. (Verb)
1. To throw, to cast, to toss. For example: "投掷" (to throw), "掷铁饼" (to throw a discus). From "The Book of Jin", Volume 56, Biography of Sun Chu: "When you attempt a throw on the ground, it should make a sound like metal or stone."
