掷 Stroke Order

掷 (zhì) 1. 扔，投，抛。 [En.] Throw, 投~ (to throw), 弃~ (to discard), ~远 (to throw far). 2. 同本义 ([En.] throw) 3. 投射 ([En.] cast) 4. 腾跃，将自身抛入空中 ([En.] jump) 引例： 1. 《史记·刺客列传》：荆轲废，乃引其匕首以掷秦王。 (Translation: After Jing Ke was discarded, he took out his dagger to throw at King Qin.) 2. 《聊斋志异·促织》：少间，帘内掷一纸出。 (Translation: After a moment, a piece of paper was thrown out from behind the curtain.) 3. 金·董解元《西厢记诸宫调》：崔莺解裙带掷于梁。 (Translation: Cui Ying loosened her skirt ties and threw them onto the beam.) 例： 又如: 掷丸 (throwing round cakes during the Liao custom on New Year’s Day to scare away ghosts), 掷骰 (throwing dice; various gambling games similar to throwing dice), 掷铁饼 (discus throw). 引例： 1. 清·许田《解语花》：多情过客，空费汝、星眸小掷。 (Translation: The sentimental passerby wastes his glance on you like little starlight.) 例： 又如: 掷目 (to cast a glance). 引例： 1. 唐·周贺《晚题江馆》：澄波月上见鱼掷，晚径叶多闻犬行。 (Translation: I see the fish jump in the moonlit water, and the leaves rustle in the evening along the path where dogs wander.) 例： 又如: 掷身 (to leap), 掷倒 (to somersault).
