Definition of 「賜」: 1. See "赐" (to grant or bestow). (Extracted from the explanation of the traditional dictionary) (Verb) 1. To give, to bestow from a superior to a subordinate. For example: "赏赐" (reward). In "说文解字·贝部" it states: "赐, 予也" (to give or grant). In the poem "古风" by Li Bai, it states: "呼我游太素,玉杯赐琼浆" (Call me to wander in the great void, a jade cup bestows fine liquor). 2. To issue or confer. In "文选·曹植·应诏诗" it states: "嘉诏未赐,朝觐莫从" (The commendatory edict has not yet been conferred; one cannot attend the court audience). 3. A term of respect when requesting something from someone. For example: "赐教" (to bestow instruction). In "仪礼·士相见礼" it states: "某不足以辱命,请终赐见" (I am not worthy to bear your command; please allow me to meet in the end). (Noun) 1. Favor or grace. For example: "受赐" (to receive a grant). In "论语·宪问" it states: "民到于今受其赐" (The people still receive his favor until now). 2. To stop or cease.
