1.1 Curving and continuous appearance. “Sayings of the Scholars”: “逶迤, also written as 逶蛇, 蜲蛇... 逶迱, 逶迆, all differ in continuous pronunciation, but sound and meaning are the same.”

1.4 Calm and content appearance. From “The Book of Songs”: “委蛇委蛇,” Tang Lu Deming’s explanation: “In ‘Han Shi’, it is written as ‘逶迤’, meaning a dignified appearance.”
