蛰 z hé 〈动〉 【本义】: 动物冬眠，藏起来不食不动 [En.] Hibernate, to hide away without eating or moving. 1. 同本义 [En.] Same as the original meaning (hibernate). 2. 虫类伏藏洞穴不出 [En.] Insects hiding and not coming out of their burrows. 3. 喻潜藏而未披露 [En.] Metaphorically used to describe something concealed and not revealed. 【引】 1. 《说文》：蛰，藏也。 [En.] "Zhé means to hide." 2. 《尔雅》：蛰，静也。 [En.] "Zhé means to be still." 3. 《吕氏春秋·孟春》：蛰虫始振。 [En.] "Hibernating insects begin to stir." 4. 《易·系辞下》：龙蛇之蛰，以存身也。虞注:“蛰，潜藏也。” [En.] "The hibernation of dragons and snakes is for the purpose of survival."
