A sound of agreement: - 唯唯 (a humble response; often refers to fish swimming together, as in "其鱼~~") - 唯诺诺 (to respond humbly) - 唯否否 (to respond negatively) --- 唯 [wéi] - Symbolic Meaning - Original Meaning: A sound of urgent response - Character Formation: Phono-semantic compound, composed of mouth (口) and a swift sound (隹). 引 (Examples) 1. 唯者,应之速而无疑也。 ("The one who responds quickly and without doubt.") — Zhu's interpretation of "Assisting characters" 2. 子曰: “参乎! 悟道一以贯之。” 曾子曰: “唯。” — "The Master said: 'Zeng, my way is cohesive.'
